Core Samples of the Universe
The Dance of Life, 40” x 15½” x 15½”
Broken Bits of Philosophy: Adam & Eve and the Gulf Between Them, 21” x 31½” x 18”
Clay (hand-built coil construction stoneware, fired), gesso, oils
—The set of Core Samples sculptures have been collected—
Core samples of philosophy— Archetypes that make up aspects of the Universe… They speak to gender, and flow of one kind of being into the next. Originally part of the Through Eyes of Myth a Voice is Heard installation and performance piece, these substantial ceramic sculptures stand on their own with much to say.
Depicting a starry space at their center, these Core Samples show only the very edges what can be known. It’s as though the curious have breached that barrier to investigate, perhaps to see only aspects of themselves in the end.
These hand-built clay oil paintings are a 2-part sculptural floor piece, approximately 36” wide, 40” tall, and 24” deep when placed together.
